Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)
An economic immigration scheme called the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), formerly known as the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, recommends individuals for Alberta permanent residence.
How do you apply for a Provincial Nominee Program?
An economic immigration scheme called the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), formerly known as the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, recommends individuals for Alberta permanent residence. Candidates must have the necessary abilities to fill open positions in Alberta or have plans to buy or launch a business there. They must also be able to provide for their families. The Canadian and Albertan governments oversee the initiative. For foreign workers who are residing and working in Alberta or who intend to do so, the AAIP offers three streams:
The Alberta Opportunity Stream
In June 2018, the Alberta Opportunity Stream debuted. This stream is intended for foreign nationals who are already employed in Alberta and who have a formal job offer from their employer in the province to remain employed full-time in the territory. Candidates for this stream must fulfill a number of qualifying conditions, including those related to school, work experience, employment offers, and language ability.
The Alberta Express Entry Stream
In June 2018, the Alberta Express Entry stream went live. The stream enables the province to submit provincial nominations for chosen applicants who have active Express Entry profiles on the federal level. Profiles in the federal Express Entry pool will immediately be taken into account by Alberta. Although the precise selection criteria are unknown, according to AAIP, it will look for applicants who can show they have close ties to Alberta and who can help regional economic diversification.
A 600-point boost to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score will be given to Express Entry applicants who earn a provincial nomination through this stream, all but ensuring that they will be given an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residency in the ensuing Express Entry draw.
Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway
Certain Express Entry candidates having a job offer from an Albertan tech company or with a qualifying tech role are eligible to submit for nomination with accelerated processing through the Accelerated Tech Pathway.
An applicant must qualify under the Alberta Express Entry stream in order to be considered for the Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway. Candidates must also currently possess a job offer from an Alberta company that is a member of the eligible tech industry or be employed in one of the 38 tech vocations that the AAIP has classified as in-demand.
