Both the federal and provincial/territorial governments in Canada welcome business immigrants and provide services to aid in settling and business establishment. AAIP: Streams for entrepreneurs

For business owners who want to live in Alberta and either buy an existing business or launch a new one there, the AAIP offers four streams:

  • The Rural Entrepreneur Stream

In a rural Alberta town, business owners can submit an Expression of Interest if they want to open a new company or purchase an existing one (EOI).

  • Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream

To start a business or purchase an existing one, international graduates of recognized post-secondary institutions in Alberta can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).

  • Farm Stream

Farmers with experience who wish to purchase or establish a farm in Alberta may do so.

  • The Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream

Outside of Canada, foreign graduates are eligible to apply for permanent residency.

BC PNP: Entrepreneurial Immigration Stream

The BC Entrepreneur immigration stream is intended for foreign nationals who have a track record of owning and operating enterprises and who want to invest their resources and knowledge in business possibilities in British Columbia. British Columbia Entrepreneur Immigration has three streams, which are as follows:

  • BC Entrepreneur

The British Columbia Entrepreneur stream caters to seasoned business managers and owners who want to settle down permanently in British Columbia. Candidates must exhibit both significant personal wealth and management experience. The successful applicants will have to make investments in the acquisition and administration of a brand-new or current BC firm. The applicant qualifies for permanent residency in Canada after demonstrating the successful running of a BC business.

  • BC Entrepreneur Regional Pilot

For seasoned business owners who want to invest in and run a company in British Columbia, there is the BC Entrepreneur Regional Pilot Stream of the BC PNP. A participating community in BC must refer applicants to the program.

  • BC Strategic Projects

Successful foreign-owned businesses looking to open a new branch or operation in British Columbia are the focus of British Columbia Strategic Projects. Along with the administration of sizable personnel teams, businesses must demonstrate their capacity to produce significant annual revenue. Successful businesses will need to relocate key personnel to BC in order to run their new proposed operation. After proving that their BC company is successfully operating, this essential personnel is qualified for permanent residence in Canada.

NBPNP: Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream (closed)

A future reopening of this program is anticipated. The New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream caters to senior business executives or seasoned business owners who are prepared to invest in and manage a New Brunswick company.

Applicants must have a sizable net worth and be prepared to use their previous business management skills to launch a new company or buy an existing one in New Brunswick in order to be considered. This program is currently closed and will not be receiving expressions of interest as of October 18, 2018. (EOIs).

SINP: Saskatchewan Entrepreneur and Farm

The Saskatchewan Entrepreneur and Farm Program consists of two immigration streams that are aimed at foreign people who want to invest a sizable amount of money in the creation of new businesses in Saskatchewan. These are some of the streams that make up Saskatchewan Entrepreneur and Farm:

  • Entrepreneur

The Saskatchewan Entrepreneur immigration program focuses on seasoned business managers and owners who have a high personal net worth and the capacity and willingness to launch a new line of business in Saskatchewan. Applicants under this stream will need to make sizable financial investments and effectively operate a new business endeavor in Saskatchewan.

  • Farm Operators and Owners

A group of businesspeople and immigrants from farms in Saskatchewan is known as the Saskatchewan Farm Owners and Operators. This stream targets foreign nationals who have a substantial net worth, a history of owning and/or managing a farm, and the capacity and desire to participate in the creation of a new farm in Saskatchewan. Those who apply through this stream must make sizable financial investments and effectively run a new farm in Saskatchewan.

PEI PNP: Business Impact

The province of Prince Edward Island (PEI) is looking for seasoned business owners and entrepreneurs with the know-how to help advance the province’s economy while generating job opportunities for both Canadian citizens and permanent residents. There is currently only one stream in the PEI Business Impact category:

  • PEI Work Permit

The chance to come to PEI on a temporary work visa in order to open a business is offered to qualified candidates through the PEI Work Permit stream. The applicant will get a provincial nomination for permanent residency once the business has been running for at least a year.

OINP: Entrepreneur stream

This stream is intended for senior business managers or experienced business owners who desire to settle in Ontario. Successful candidates are required to launch a new firm or purchase an existing company where they take part in day-to-day managerial responsibilities.

An applicant must be able to demonstrate that they have the interest, capability, and financial means to own and actively manage an Ontario business in order to be eligible to submit an EOI for the Ontario Entrepreneur stream. Because of this, the program calls for both a high level of corporate management experience and sizable financial net worth.
